Actor Alan Thicke died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack, a publicist for his family told NBC News.
According to TMZ, which first broke the news, Thicke had a heart attack while he was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter.

He was transported to Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center, in Burbank, California, around noon local time and was pronounced dead there, the site reported.


He is survived by his wife Tanya Thicke and his three children, Carter, Brennan and singer Robin Thicke.

The way I look at it, Thicke was a comedian. What better way to express his passing than with a laugh?

Seems to be, I strongly urge people to learn CPR, because a heart attack is survivable if CPR is implemented quickly.

You are correct; if started within 6 minutes of the heart attack occurring, the chances of survival without brain damage are greatly increased, especially if you are trained in the operation of an AED unit (if available at the time). Either way if started within that time frame, you keep the blood flowing to the brain until arrival of EMS personnel there is a chance of survival. Trust me, there is no greater satisfaction then walking into the hospital and formally meeting the person who's life you helped to save.
