I have Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield healthcare insurance--my late wife (who had worked at the VA) left it to me--and it is simply superb: It first knocks down the "Submitted Charges" to the "Plan Allowance" (which is often just a fraction of the former); then it pays 85 percent of the Plan Allowance; and it actually pays 100 percent toward hospitalization. (Doctors' charges are separate, of course).

Perhaps most importantly, it carries a $1,000 per year annual cap, for an individual. (I have since remarried; but my wife is not on my plan, as it is an annuity, and therefore I cannot put anyone else on it. She has Medicare, plus a Medigap plan.)
it's not the nature of the plan, it is what they do with that money that disturbs me. The VA hospital in Fort Wayne is still using equipment dated to the Korean War. They are sorely understaffed while the higher ups get fantastic bonuses and throw lavish parties.
The VA needs to be run in a proper manner and must answer to it's membership. New equipment and well trained staff.

They have a hell of a music store though! I stopped at Sweetwater yesterday. 1100 employees, with full gym, food court and doctor on site! Sorry to digress!

That is a travesty to have Vets receive less than state of the art care. To me, no issue is more important than to fix the whole VA cluster_______. Thank you for your service.

I'd love to see Christie come to the rescue in whatever way he can. He's got a lot to offer and a lot that this country needs!

I've seen a lot of people over the years who seemed very busy yet didn't seem to get anything done. I think there is some quote about this phenomenon.
One can be sure that he who says he knows knows nothing

I'm pulling for the guy, but I think he never considered all the ramifications of actually getting the job. He is what he is and that's unlikely to change. I maintain the biggest resistance will not come from the left, but financial hawks on the right.

    Good luck Mr. President

I love you guys, but containing him is YOUR responsibility.

Remember post 911? When something blows up will you stand in his way?
