    Life without Capitalism

From Life without Capitalism a video depicting the distopian nature of utopian socialism.

If that's not convincing, I suggest Eugen Richter's 1891 Pictures of the Socialistic Future (follow link for free copy of book).

I thought this thread was going to be about what life would have been like if we were still living under the feudal system. That was a great video though, thanks for sharing.

Feudal mercantilism and modern socialism have a lot in common. Essentially both are centrally planned. There is the pretense socialism is democratized, but it's not, it's centrally planned. And as such both are statist, authoritarian, despotic, tyrannical.

Freedom and capitalism go hand in hand. This is a capitalist country. Collectivist govt always fails and it's that tinge of collectivism in America that's hurting her so much. There's just not enough of other peoples' money to pay for all that spending.

I still remember my first reading of Milton Friedman's Capitalism and Freedom. In the preface to the edition I'd just purchased and was drinking coffee over, Friedman muses was there anything he wished he could go back to add, he says he would add to the idea that economic freedom drives personal/social freedom, that those two drive political liberty.
