Cool Trump scratches Charles Manson from SCOTUS short list

    Republicans saddened

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—Amid reports that Charles Manson is ill, the Donald Trump transition team has removed his name from its list of potential Supreme Court nominees.

For President-elect Trump, the development was a serious setback, since Manson had reportedly topped the short list of Supreme Court picks since his name was first floated last December.

At that time, Trump said that Manson’s extensive experience with the judiciary made him uniquely qualified to “shake up the Supreme Court.”

On CNN, on Wednesday, Trump’s adviser Kellyanne Conway wished Manson a speedy recovery but acknowledged that losing him as a potential Court pick was a significant blow.

“We’re moving on, of course, but this is very disappointing,” she said. “There’s only one Charles Manson.”

Granny says don't say no prayer fer him - just let the Devil take him...

Mass murderer Charles Manson suffering from intestinal bleeding
-- Infamous cult leader and convicted mass murderer Charles Manson remained hospitalized in Bakersfield with a sigmoid lesion and lower gastrointestinal bleeding, a source told The Californian.
Manson, 82, was brought to Bakersfield from Corcoran State Prison before dawn Monday morning with the ailments, according to a source with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity. A sigmoid lesion is a benign or malignant lesion on the sigmoid colon, which is part of the large intestine. Manson arrived at Mercy Hospital's Truxtun Avenue facility via the ER and was signed in as “John Doe,” the source said. Officials at the downtown hospital — where Manson is still believed to be staying — and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said they could not discuss whether Manson had been taken to Bakersfield, or any medical complications they might be treating, due to privacy laws. Two CDCR vans were parked early Wednesday outside the hospital, ABC News reported.

This is not the first time Manson has been treated locally, according to reports. An unnamed corrections department official told the New York Post that Manson was taken to a hospital off prison grounds months ago. “He’s been getting treatment at that hospital for a while. I was told months ago they removed him from the prison for an undisclosed illness,” the official told the Post on Wednesday. San Joaquin Community Hospital, which in the past has treated state prison inmates, issued a news release Wednesday titled "Charles Manson Not at Our Hospital."

The release said certain hospital and CDCR regulations must be followed whenever an inmate is admitted for treatment: the prisoner must be accompanied by two or more armed guards; inmates must wear prison-issued clothing and be handcuffed and shackled; and the inmate must be admitted to the hospital's special lockdown unit, equipped with extra safety measures and staffed by CDCR officers. "Inmate patients are not permitted in regular patient rooms," the release said. California Correctional Health Care Services officials said CDCR has taken prisoners to the following Bakersfield hospitals for treatment in the past year: Bakersfield Heart Hospital; Bakersfield Memorial Hospital; and Kern Medical Center, as well as Mercy and San Joaquin.

Debra Tate, sister of Manson victim Sharon Tate, told The Associated Press on Tuesday she has "no ill wishes" toward the people who killed her sister. She said she will withhold expressing her feelings until she hears Manson has died. "I would probably say a prayer for them and shed a tear and ask God to have mercy on their souls, but so far I haven't allowed myself to feel anything because it's unsubstantiated," Tate told The AP. "I'm not allowing myself to feel anything until I know that it's true."

Manson orchestrated the killings of actress Sharon Tate, 8 1/2-months pregnant at the time, and four others at Tate's home on Aug. 9, 1969. His followers then killed grocers Leno and Rosemary LaBianca the following night. Manson, Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkle, Susan Atkins and Charles Tex Watkins were each convicted of multiple counts of murder and sentenced to death. Those sentences were later changed to life terms in prison following a California Supreme Court ruling in 1972 that found the death penalty unconstitutional. Atkins died in prison in 2009 at the age of 61 after suffering from cancer. Manson has repeatedly been denied parole. His next hearing is scheduled for 2027.

US mass murderer Manson too weak to undergo surgery: report
Saturday 7th January, 2017: US mass murderer Charles Manson, who was rushed to hospital earlier this week, is suffering from intestinal bleeding but is too weak to undergo surgery, media reports said on Friday.
The 82-year-old, who is serving nine life sentences for the 1969 grisly killing of seven people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate, was reportedly transported from California's Corcoran state prison to a hospital in Bakersfield on Sunday. The celebrity gossip website TMZ said Manson was supposed to undergo surgery on Thursday but doctors determined he was too weak and the procedure too risky. TMZ said doctors wanted to perform surgery shortly after he was rushed to hospital but he refused.

Manson finally agreed to go under the knife on Thursday but his condition was too weak, TMZ said. "Manson remains in hospital and doctors are trying to figure out their next move," it added. Manson headed an apocalyptic cult that went on a killing spree in 1969 in upscale, mostly white neighborhoods of Los Angeles. The group hoped to blame the crimes on African Americans and spark what Manson termed a "Helter Skelter" race war.

He was sentenced to death in 1969 along with four of his "Manson Family" disciples for having led the killing of seven people -- including director Roman Polanski's wife Sharon Tate, who was eight months pregnant -- but their sentences were later commuted to life in prison. Manson, who was not actually present but ordered the bloody rampage, has been denied parole 12 times and is not eligible to apply again until 2027.

A prison official told AFP that during his more than 40 years behind bars, the cult leader had accumulated well over 100 rules violations, including for assault, possession of a weapon, threatening staff and possessing a cellphone. "He cannot be described as a model inmate," said Terry Thornton, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Thornton said she could not comment on Manson's health condition because of privacy laws.

Brucie not gettin' out anytime soon...

California governor stops parole for Charles Manson follower
24 June`17 — California Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday night blocked parole for Charles Manson follower and convicted killer Bruce Davis.
Brown's rejection issued late Friday night is the fifth time Davis has been recommended for parole by a state panel only to see it blocked by a governor, and continues Brown's unflinching pattern of refusing to allow anyone from Manson's "family" to be freed. On Feb. 1, the parole panel recommended release for the 74-year-old Davis, who is serving a life sentence for the 1969 slayings of musician Gary Hinman and stuntman Donald "Shorty" Shea. Davis was not involved in the more notorious killings of actress Sharon Tate and six others by Manson's group. Brown in his written decision acknowledges the factors that led the board to recommend parole for Davis: His efforts to improve himself, his academic progress, and 25 years with no discipline for misconduct.

But he said these things are "outweighed by negative factors that demonstrate he remains unsuitable for parole. "These cult murders have left an indelible mark on the public — the Manson Family is still feared to this day," Brown wrote. "Incredibly heinous and cruel offenses like these constitute the 'rare circumstances' in which the crime alone can justify a denial of parole." Also, Brown added "his continued minimization of his own violence and his role in the Manson Family further shows that he remains an unreasonable risk to the public."

Bruce Davis, a Charles Manson follower and convicted killer, waits moments before the start of his parole hearing at the California Men's Colony

The governor's decision came a week before the deadline. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger also rejected Davis' parole bid before Brown made a common ritual of it. A message left with Davis lawyer Michael Beckman was not immediately returned. Davis is serving his time at the California Men's Colony at San Luis Obispo. During the half-century since the slayings, parole panels decided five times that Davis is no longer a public safety risk. Officials have cited his age and good behavior behind bars that includes earning a doctoral degree and ministering to other inmates.

Davis testified at his 2014 hearing that he attacked Shea with a knife and held a gun on Hinman while Manson cut Hinman's face with a sword. "I wanted to be Charlie's favorite guy," he said then. Beckman, who has been fighting for years for the release of Davis, said in February that his client is the most rehabilitated prisoner among the 2,000 he is representing in the penal system. "There's no one even a close second," Beckman said. On Thursday, California officials denied parole for convicted killer and Manson follower Patricia Krenwickel.

Why do you post garbage like that?

It is not clever. It is not humorous. It appeals only to the ignorant unwashed.

Never mind. I answered my own question.

That you have no sense of humor and therefore fail to understand satire is hardly my fault @Cletus

Perhaps it had something to do with humorless parents?

    Manson knockin' on death's door...

Charles Manson Hospitalized in Bakersfield Again, Authorities Say; Severity of Illness Unclear
November 15, 2017 - Authorities confirmed Wednesday that mass murderer Charles Manson is back in a Bakersfield hospital, though the severity of his condition is unclear.
Kern County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Smallwood confirms that Manson is at a local hospital but could not say more. In January, Manson, 82, was rushed to Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield for what authorities at the time would describe only as a serious medical problem.

Manson and members of his “family” of followers were convicted of killing actress Sharon Tate and six other people during a bloody rampage in the Los Angeles area in August 1969. Prosecutors said Manson and his followers were trying to incite a race war he dubbed “Helter Skelter,” taken from the Beatles song of the same name. Mass killer Charles Manson gravely ill at California hospital, reports say
Nov. 15, 2017 | Charles Manson, one of America's most infamous mass killers whose 1960s cult led his followers down a path of murder, anarchy and "helter skelter," is gravely ill at a California hospital, according to published reports.
The 83-year-old inmate, serving multiple life sentences at a prison in Corcoran, Calif., has struggled with gastrointestinal problems and been shuttled back and forth to hospitals in recent years. TMZ reports that he was brought to a Bakersfield hospital three days ago and is facing life-threatening ailments. Manson, noted since the 1960s for a crudely carved swastika on his forehead, has been in the annals of American criminal lore since he dispatched a legion of cult followers to carry out brutal attacks in and around Los Angeles. Among the victims was director Roman Polanski's pregnant wife, actress Sharon Tate. In all, he and his followers killed nine people at four locations in July and August 1969.

Charles Manson, 74, on March 18, 2009 at Corcoran State Prison, Calif. The picture was taken as a regular update of the prison's files.

It's not his first bout with medical issues. In January of this year, Manson was sent under heavily armed guard to a hospital in Bakersfield, where officials described him as "seriously ill." But he was treated and released back to prison. TMZ reported that he had been having a bout of severe intestinal bleeding and needed surgery to repair a lesion, but doctors deemed him too weak for the procedure. Manson had appeared frail and seemingly mentally vague at his various parole hearings in the 1990s before he abruptly stopped physically attending the hearings. All of his parole petitions ended with officials denying his release. His first parole hearing was in November 1978, just seven years after he was convicted of his crimes. Manson was denied parole for the 12th time on April 11, 2012.

Charles Manson is escorted to his arraignment on conspiracy-murder charges in connection with the Sharon Tate murder case, 1969, Los Angeles, Calif.

California parole officials noted at his April 2012 hearing that Manson had schizophrenia issues, as well as paranoid delusions. The panel also noted that Manson had received more than 100 rules sanctions while in prison and has never expressed remorse for the killings. His next scheduled parole hearing is in 2027, when he would be 92 years old. At his last hearing five years ago, the parole board cited the testimony of a prison psychologist, who said Manson had recently bragged to him about his lethal nature. "I'm special. I'm not like the average inmate," Manson told the psychologist, according to a written record of the hearing. "I have spent my life in prison. I have put five people in the grave. I am a very dangerous man."
