The oral contraceptive pill is considered an essential medicine/prophylactic by the WHO. Many women don't just take it for birth control, but to regulate menstrual cycles, treat acne, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and more.

I don't mind tax dollars subsidizing contraception so much. Cheaper than illegitimate babies.

But, we should make hormonal contraception MANDATORY for all, male and female, who receive any type of federal or state aid. That would save taxpayers a LOT of money in the long run.
