Oh... we have made some mistakes, for sure. Hillary was not as strong a candidate as I had hoped she might be. She made some tactical errors down the stretch. Democrats have, unfortunately, been loathe to play hardball politics with the intensity that Mitch & Co. play it. We lack party discipline. But my post is factually correct. Liberalism won the 20th Century and I see no reason why it won't win this one as well.
Remember the great sign at a tea bagger rally in 2010: "Keep your socialist hands off my Medicare!" What was once only dreamt of on the far left, is now virulently defended by the far right.
America may very well be a center-right country, but that "center" has shifted so far leftward over the past century, that where the center now stands used to be out of the water on the left bank....now, it's in the mainstream. Call that "center-right" all you like, we both know what really happened.
