i climbed radio towers for a few years

i always had to wait for the adrenalin to bleed off before i could work on the equipment

i got off a tower in conroe, tx about 30 seconds before it got struck by lightning

knocked me and two other guys right on our asses and we were a good 25 yards from the base

I'm not good at all at being up high. I wanted to help when we built our house in the country, so my husband let me but when we were setting rafters (three stories up) I could barely move. And, that's with a sheathed second story attic floor under me. My peripheral vision kept drawing in the landscape around me and legs were like lead. It was ridiculous but I couldn't control it. They sent me down to clean up trash.

At 5'6", I was built close to the ground for a reason. But every now and then, I climb out of my comfort zone. As a kid, I scaled a 60', vertical limestone quarry wall, as a teenager, dove off a 30 meter platform and most recently, bungee jumped. Overcoming fear is a good thing and extends your boundaries. Coupled with common sense, test those self imposed limits from time to time.

I jump off the bridge in the Peace river, about 25 ft into a 13 ft hole. I don't do it often though, it is a blackwater river and no telling if anything is floating just under the surface. Now if it was spring fed....
