What "law" do you want enforced? It is not a crime to be in the United States without papers. It is a civil matter at that point. Further, we have city, county, state and federal law enforcement officials for a reason. Each has their jurisdiction and I don't think that the states should get into federal jurisdiction and vice versa.

immigration IS a federal matter...................if they are ordered to give up those illegal aliens, they need to give them up. Period. The rest of us are obligated to follow Fed law, so are they. Immigration is federal jurisdiction. The states have no proviso otherwise.

Who....doesn't believe local government is best?
http://immigration.findlaw.com/immig...tion-laws.htmlPerhaps the most notorious state attempt at regulating immigration is Arizona's S.B. 1070, signed into law in 2010. The U.S. Dept. of Justice (DOJ) stated in a brief that Arizona lawmakers "crossed a constitutional line" with the new law. A federal judge blocked four of the most controversial elements, including the requirement that police check the immigration status of anyone they stop or suspect is in the state illegally.
