I don't ice fish so I used my regular gear. Everyone else was using these 2 foot rods. I have a couple of stubbies in the closet, will switch to them next time. I'm kind of hooked, the club has 3 augers and they'll lend me one.

They came with a flat of redworms, used those.

Funny story. I bought the ice fishing little rods for my kiddos when they were little instead of the bull$#@! cheepos from Walmartinez.

Now I have 3 sweet ice fishing rods.

Right, that's my story also, these are Zebco bullfrogs. Little one-piece stubby rods and a bait caster.

What kind of chips? The local sporting goods store has a very wide variety.

I was going to soy sauce them and garlic and maybe oregano or something also. Maybe some chili paste.

There called jig poles anf if you get a two foot rainbow on one of those it will be fun. Reworms huh, I'll have to try that I've only used maggies and minnows for trout through the ice

I had tip-ups decades ago, went ice fishing once when I was a kid, never did it after that.

They literally were hitting seconds after getting the bait down to the bottom and raising it a few inches up. I think I caught 4 fish on the same piece of scraggly worm.

Season to taste, but in my opinion,soy sauce is a great way to ruin them...EEWWW

The last time I went trout fishing I was told I caught a record breaking trout. No one had ever seen a fish that small taken from that stream before.

Fruit trees. Mesquite or oak or other harder woods would be too much. You can also put a bowl of water with fruit in it at the bottom to keep the humidity up.
