It was a Christian city when it was attacked by Muslim armies. This is true of east Roman Palestine in general. What Peter is pointing out is that the Crusades were in part a response to Muslim aggression.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

It was an Arab city.. Christians had no interest in Jerusalem until about the 4th century AD.

It was a Christian city conquered by Muslim Arabs in the 7th Century. I don't know why you would try to deny that. Worse still, there was no Islam in the 4th Century and the very first church egan in Jeruslaem.

The Muslims were threatening to overtake Constantinople and pour into Western Europe.

Great city. Was there a couple of years ago. Will have to go back soon- to restock at the Spice Market.

Arabs have been in Palestine for over 3,000 years. Some converted to Christianity from Judaism .. and later to Islam.. but Palestine was never European.

Muslims attacked Christian states throughout the Levant, north Africa, and even Europe itself. In fact, the Christian holy places were conquered y Muslim armies. not sure why you deny this...

Have you read the Israeli scholar Shlomo Sands on the Diaspora?
