There were four rounds of QE- Bush signed the first one. There were a couple other programs as well.

Obama's stimulus package was a handout to the unions and local governments and other sundry cronies, not the banks.

Note, this is not a defense of Obama. He was an awful president. And as a Senator, he supported the bank bailouts. But it was a Republican president who signed those bailouts into law.

Apparently, Republicans expect homeless people to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, yet have no problem throwing billions of tax dollars at failing banks whose greed and recklessness caused a massive recession.

And most of the first round that was implemented by bush was rejected and repealed by bipartisan efforts. However, the snakes In the swamp just reworded and implemented most QE after Obama took office hoping he would get the credit for saving the nation. The messiah thing , you know :-)

The Rolling Stone article is lengthy but very informative on the timelines and abject failure of the whole thing.

I just said that the government threw billions of dollars at the banks, so I have no idea why you're trying to inform me of something I already know and have stated twice.

QE was the monetary bailout and was implemented largely independently of the executive and legislative branches. TARP was the fiscal bailout that Bush signed into law and that Obama implemented upon assuming the presidency.

    Yes.

And the Fed didn't administer TARP the way Congress provided for in the legislation. It was to purchase the "toxic" derivatives. The feds took the mortgage backed securities off books by changing the mark to market rules. Then gave the TARP money out directly to institutions to use as they saw fit. Congress complained. The Fed told them to screw off.

That is not what you stated in post eight. Your quote:
"Obama's stimulus package was a handout to the unions and local governments and other sundry cronies, not the banks."
You imply that Obama threw no money at the banks rather the GOP did when the time line clearly proves you are misleading.

    Bump.
    It's dog walking time, again.
Looks like some posters who went sour on the GOP are back on the bandwagon.
