    Lifting

Thought I might check out this "lighter" side of the forum. I lift regularly, and am into healthy eating and healthy lifestyle. Any other health nuts or weight lifters here?

Should be done with your legs, not your back.

When I am in the gym, I lift with my legs, and then with my arms. Sometimes I only use my back, and sometimes I like to use many muscle groups at the same time.

This is my first time posting in "the lighter side", so I am not sure if our personalities from the political war fields carry over here.

I have rode my bicycle 100 miles in a day 6 times in my life. I likely never will again.

I've never had to work out as I've always been in a construction trade.

Not sure how many calories I burn climbing towers but it seems to be enough to keep me fit as a fiddle.

Real work is solid gold. I get a little exercise running my business, but nothing like climbing towers or construction.

I got into the gym as a way to help my recovery from surgery after a head on collision, and ended up getting hooked. After over a year of not being able to enjoy the simple freedom of walking, something inside of me awakened as I recovered, and I began to appreciate health like never before. I find myself browsing healthfood stores now, and very careful to avoid secondhand smoke. Its kinda weird when I am in a healthfood store, because I am surrounded by the people who I rant about when I am not posting in the "lighter side". There seem to be a lot of yoga types, and commune looking folks who share this lifestyle, and these are not people who have previously not been part of my universe.
