Live $#@!roach Removed From Woman's Skull

CHENNAI, India (RNN) - Doctors got the shock of their lives after a woman said something was bugging her last week.

A woman rushed to a clinic after she felt something go up her nose in the middle of the night, the New Indian Expressreported.

The woman, Selvi, a domestic worker, was referred to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital, where a nasal endoscopy revealed that a $#@!roach had traveled inside her skull, between her eyes.

“I could not explain the feeling but I was sure it was some insect. There was a tingling, crawling sensation. Whenever it moved, it gave me a burning sensation in my eyes. I spent the entire night in discomfort, sitting up and waiting for dawn to go to Stanley hospital after getting the reference of a doctor from my employer,” she said.

Dr. M.N. Shankar said it was the first time he'd removed a live $#@!roach from a woman's head in his three decades of practice.

The doctors faced difficulties removing the critter because of its locatiion in the woman's head. It took 45 minutes for doctors to pull out the $#@!roach using clamps and suction.

"I had to first drag it to a place from where I could pull it out," Shankar said.
The doctor said that if the roach had remained in the woman's head, it eventually would have died there, putting the woman at risk for infection.

When I was a teenager , a bug crawled into one of my buddies ears at the camp. This was a shack with no ceiling or inside walls. Just a roof and some plywood on the outside. Coldest place I ever stayed.

They tried pulling it out. They tried drowning it by pouring whiskey in his ear. Lol. Dat hurt. They tried freezing it by putting little chips of ice in his ear canal. They tried jabbing it with a match stick. Then they wanted to light the match, blow it out, and burn the bug out. Finally, one yoyo had the solution. Would have worked too. Pour a little Coleman fuel down there. That was the last straw. There was no way the poor guy was going to let them do that.

Eventually , I had to take him to the emergency room almost 70 miles away in the early morning hours.
