AQ pledged after the major festivities. Send in Mercs.....seeker hunter teams and let them do what they do best. No constraints.

Oh, and that's with the mercs knowing they have no protection from the Afghanistan government and that the US will not acknowledge any captured or killed.

A Superpower can do that in a way wherein all can only suspect. But never prove anything.

Solves the problem of putting US military on the ground and the use of a surge.

Now that we do there has only ever been one way to deal with this type of enemy. Complete occupation and destruction through forced values. The dismantling of the teachings of Oslam through the freedom of religion. If by force as necessary.

Its not easy, short or without casualties but that is the only way this will stop. Your approach does not address the root cause nor does it dissuade from recruitment. Mine does.

What is your Plan B? Once you are in office (a hypothetical) you will find out we do not have the resources for your Plan A. What else would you consider?

And, regarding Plan A, would if be used in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen?

I'm not sure that I would realize the resources aren't there for plan A given they absolutely are.

Iraq probably. Syria no, Israel can take care of that, Libya yes and Yemen no given SA can handle that. The only reason I say yes for Libya is because we caused that problem.

I disagree that we have the resources to fully occupy any one of them much less those you listed. Even if we did, it leaves us venerable elsewhere. Russia took our decade plus of war in Iraq and Afghanistan to rearm and cause trouble along its western borderlands.

So what? Russia has never really been a threat to us like AQ or ISIS. They've always been the boogie man we should all be afraid of. Today Russia shares many of the same rights we do.

I will take the Russian risk. Especially if we normalize relations with them.

al Q and ISIL are not an existential risk to the US.

We disagree. Especially in this political environment.
