We also have interest in transnational terror groups operating out of Syria too, Pete. Transnational terror groups like the Islamic State that grew and festered from Caliphate seeking small organization to transnational terror group while you twiddled your f'n thumbs and warped on about the US having no interest in Syria, in fact, as long as it all remained regional, actually made the West safer.

You'll note......there is no f'n body arguing today the ISIS is making anyone safer.

Brussels is a good place to visit. So there is that for Mattis. Great food.
Nothing is going to happen as long as Pakistan remains a safe haven for the Taliban.

Right. I and others know how to counter it. Neocons don't, and have had the last decade and a half to prove it.

The Taliban is a problem for Pakistan and Afghanistan. Transnational terrorists are a problem for the US and the West.

Actually, the bottom line is your atrocious spelling. Influential.......doesn't have a f'n c in it, donttread. Influence has a c in it, influential doesn't, if you're a well read individual, you'd know this.

Donttread....does the word 'controling' have one l or two? Hmm.
And I understand completely we blustering dinos are being ignored. Why...it happens on these pages quite frequently, doesn't it? We'll all remember the rise of the Islamic State, we T-Rex's were ignored then too. You isolationists and 'realism disciples' like Peter were blustering forth. "The US has no interest in the outcome in Syria." "The Islamic State is a made up boogieman."

Ransom cautioned and blustered........uhhh......Gentlemen.....the US best do something about this....this is a national security crisis.

The realists like Pete and Obama blustered jv team/sideshow, no security interests.

Donttread........not only ignored the blustering neocons.....he went as far as to ask.....well "what threat does ISIS pose the US anyways?"

And note actually reality.....the actual bottom line.......member donttread don't ask that question anymore. Ever. Member donttread had his question not only answered, but firmly answered so.....that question has never ever seen the light of day again, after all, how would it look today? After Paris, after San B, after Nice, after Berlin..........what would donttread look like asking that question......why....he'd look naïve is what he would look like. As well, Peter don't claim we've no interest in the outcome of the conflict in Syria any longer either.

BEcause you both have learned. Either Ransom.....or reality......both were speaking the same language and speaking it correctly. You two bone fcked the Islamic State analysis.....and continue to do so today. Bottom line.......listen to your Uncle Ransom....I'll steer you true.

You seem incapable of seperating the concept of "country" from the concept of that countries government. It's a relatively simple disction , and I afraid if you cannot get past that you cannot communicate with me because I'm on a higher plane than you are.
And ISIS STILL has not posed a major direct threat to the America . They are instead the direct result of decades of the interventionism you preach.

Lessons come hard......but you seem to be learning them anyway. Kudos Peter
Actually if we ignored them last time the Russians would be there but OBL never would have been

The problem is the Taliban's ability to launch attacks from, restock and maintain supply routes and recruit out of Pakistan.

All transnational terrorism originates from a local problem.
