LOL, I didn't read the entire thread but I'm a dog guy, I don't like cats. Sorry Dan, something about them rubbing my legs all the time that creeps me out. I've had everything from pits to chi's. I have two chi's now, one is 16 and goes everywhere I go. Almost like one of my kids.

16? Wow. Is that unusual for a chi? They all go way too young.

Not really, I think she has a couple more years left. I get really attached to my animals and the bigger breeds die sooner. My Great Dane lasted 7 years, I'm not sure if it is better to have them along time and then you know they are at the door or to have them for a few and guess at it. The longer could be worse, I'll miss this one in a few years. It will be hard to take when the time comes.

I've spent thousands on this one, emergency procedures with a 20 % chance of survival, even having her teeth cleaned now is a big deal. And yes I do have my dogs teeth cleaned..............

I have both cats and a dog. We just spent 1000 dollars to save our cat. Whose uterus got infected. Which we did not know until she started leaking. that how much fluid was inside her. People were like I wouldnt have spent the money I would have got another cat. I was like well I can't do that to her. She has been with us since she was kitten and for the last 3 and half years now. Plus we had just lost the dog prior to that.

My wife and son were already devastated with the dogs death. So I went and saved a pup. Who is not going to be a lap dog. Already the piles are increasing in size too.
