I don't have much to add here except to say that I've long considered myself strongly supportive of the Rojava Revolution!

As a free-market anarchist I might be expected to reject "secular, feminist, anarcho-libertarianism as Noam Chomsky or the activists of Occupy Wall Street" but support it. To me it sounds like a simple, small, direct democracy. Much of what I've read is about the women in leadership roles and fighting as well.

There isn't anything inconsistent with "free market anarchy" and what the Kurds are doing in Rojava. On the large scale, they subscribe to democratic confederalism, which is an emphasis on political decentralization. On the small scale, they subscribe to local democracy and classically liberal property rights (a mixture of common and private property). So they do have markets and they are indeed free.

This appears to be an identitarian or nationalist revolt coinciding quite closely with my own politics. Anti-capitalist? Anti-modern? Anti-Islamist? If the 'ethnic circumstances' were a bit different methinks some of our members (I have one in particular in mind) would be talking about "fascism" rather than registering their approval and support.

Just watched "Fighting on the Frontline: Battling ISIS" on Netflix, for those who have access. Focused on some Britishers from 20s to 40s in age going there for 6 month tours. Not much on Rojava and the Kurds though.
