I was talking to a buddy of mine today at the gym about this issue. He's in the utility business with a utility based here in Akron. He doesn't believe it will a hill of beans difference. Obama killed coal -- and then to make it permanent subsidized wind farms and solar farms. Most of the utilities have mothballed or closed alot of their coal fired plants. He thinks coal will never come back. FWIW

Natural gas is cheap, power is moving toward it.

People don't want coal. Trump wants coal. He's interfering with the market.... again.
Alternative energy is cheaper and cleaner (without subsidies).
The only people who want coal are Trump, his billionaire buddies, and unenlightened people who believe that coal is cheap and clean.

You kind of hit on a valid point there. The liberal elites were clammoring for wind farms to be established off the east coast until those wind farms could be seen from their homes, then they became bitter opponents of developing wind power.

My back yard isn't large enough to house a nuclear power plant, but there's plenty of open space all over the country. Go to Georgia and check it out.

For some reason, liberals think that the only viable sources of energy for modern society are the ones which aren't viable yet today.
