As for the OP, on one hand the left has staged some of the most classless, violent, lawbreaking "protests" in recent history.

On the other hand, if the source is citing this proposed legislation honestly, on the surface there is no way I could or would justifiably support it. I would openly oppose it.

What the bill proposes is that if a protest turns violent, the organizers of the event can be held criminally and civilly liable.

I don't see that as unreasonable. It is certainly not an assault on the First Amendment.

Police may be given power to arrest anyone involved in a peaceful demonstration that is merely suspected of turning violent.


Republican senators in Arizona voted for SB1142 this week, which proposes expanding the state’s racketeering laws to also include rioting.
It will permit police to arrest people who are at least involved in planning a protest.

IOW, the bill will allow police to arrest people BEFORE the actual protest, meaning that they can arrest people even though there has been no rioting.
