In possible response to Trump, EU parliament calls to end visa-free travel for US cit

In what has been called a “visa war,” the European Union’s parliament on Thursday called on the bloc to force American tourists visiting Europe to first obtain visas because the U.S. excludes five EU countries from its no-visa policy.

Oh well I guess we will all just have to visit Disney ........LOL

Seems silly on both parts. I am sure the US did it out of "national security" but it seems like the US is trying to stop something that could happen regardless of whether there are Visas required for some countries or not.

This has been an ongoing issue for well over a year and started during the previous administration. I think it's only getting traction because of the current high visibility being brought by Trump's travel ban.

It will most likely not happen because the EU would lose too much money from tourism.

My personal opinion is that that the EU is acting as a "good listener" to it's members. I doubt seriously that they will impose this new requirement on US citizens but anything is possible in this new world of Trump.

The EU is certainly not acting like a "good listener" to its citizens, however. They are the ones clamoring to shut the Islamic spigot.

I doubt it will be much of a hassle. May nations that require VISAs let you pay for them when you land at their airport. I got my VISA for Morocco that way. AA short line and $20 bucks and I was good to go.
