If that was what I meant, that is what I would have said. Now, I would say to you what you really need said to you, but as per your usual MO, I know you would go crying to the Mods. You seem to think it is okay for you to say whatever you want to other members, but if they respond in kind, your first move is to call for Mommy and Daddy.

Do us both a favor and don't bother even replying to anything I post in the future. You have nothing of value to contribute to a discussion and I am really, really not interested in having to put up with your bull$#@!.

BATTERED BY SCANDAL, MARINES ISSUE NEW SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

The Marines are going to try to tighten up its policy governing the use of social media.

Battered by a nude photo-sharing scandal, the Marine Corps has issued a longer and more detailed social media policy that lays out the professional and legal ramifications for service members culpable of online misconduct. Among the coming changes: a requirement that all Marines sign a statement acknowledging they have read and understand the new guidelines.

The adjustments are designed to give leaders more leeway in prosecuting or punishing offenders. Former and current female Marines have reported their photographs and those of women in other services being posted on social media pages without their consent. Investigators are also looking into threatening and obscene comments Marines wrote accompanying the images.

First Marines punished for online conduct following nude photo scandal

Sounds like Non-Judicial punishment. Loss of rank, money, and extra duty.

Two Marines have been disciplined for posting derogatory comments on social media, marking the first time the Marine Corps has officially punished members for online misconduct following last month’s revelations that hundreds of service members shared illicit photos of their female counterparts on a Facebook group, Marine officials said Friday.

The two active-duty Marines, one a noncommissioned officer and the other a junior enlisted Marine, had made demeaning comments about one of their enlisted leaders, said a Marine official, who requested anonymity to speak about punishments that had not been made public. The Marines were reduced in rank and lost pay, the official said. The Marines belonged to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, an infantry unit stationed in California.

“The Marines and Sailors of 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines do not tolerate personal attacks on their Marines, online or elsewhere,” said the unit’s commander, Lt. Col. Warren Cook, in a statement. “This kind of behavior flies in the face of our service’s core values and this organization refuses to condone it.”
These days this is a career killer. They better make plans for what to do next in life.

I never saw any of the photos of these female marines. I wonder if many of them looked better naked than they do fully clothed. Based on my experience in the Army, the only time I saw attractive females was when I was in a hospital recovering from an injury.

Update: Scouring for nude images in photo scandal at Marine base

This is becoming a massive waste of resources.

In a cramped office at the Marines' Quantico base outside Washington, about 20 investigators sit elbow to elbow, staring into their computers as images of naked men and women flash across the screens.

On the walls are white boards with statistics, crime lists and a montage of social media messages directed to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

The objective of this disturbing sleuth work: Rooting out the extent of a nude photo-sharing scandal that has rocked the Corps, embarrassed its leaders and spread to other military services. And the sheer scope of the job is daunting.

"If you do that eight to 10 hours a day, five days a week, you get pretty burned out," NCIS Director Andrew Traver said in an interview. New agents cycled in after the first month, he said, "just because of the burnout factor, especially the ones that are doing the image review."

This is Task Force Purple Harbor. What began as a response to military members posting nude photos online has morphed into a growing criminal investigation that now includes 21 felony cases and more than 30 others referred to Marine commanders for possible administrative action. Five Marines have received administrative punishments so far, but no details have been provided.

An update- one of the marines may be court-martialed.

Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Robert Neller on Thursday said one service member could face a court-martial and another has been discharged following the military branch’s nude-photo-sharing scandal reveal in March.

Neller told Senate Armed Services Committee lawmakers that 65 individuals were identified in the scandal — in which service members allegedly shared nude photos of female Marines and veterans in the private Facebook group “Marines United,” — and that 59 were sent to their commands for possible disciplinary or administrative action.

Of the 59 individuals, seven have received non-judicial punishment, 20 have received “adverse administrative actions,” and one Marine has been administratively separated.
The service is also planning an Article 32 hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to warrant a court-martial on one suspect, but Neller did not say if it was a Marine.

“I've gone personally, as all of my leaders have gone, and spoken to literally tens of thousands of Marines and made them understand what their responsibilities are and I think more importantly . . . the social media things that we've seen have been — were just indicative of a problem within our culture that we did not properly respect or value the contributions of women in our Corps and that's the problem we have to fix,” he said.
