No seriously. A friggin joke.
I'm summoned for jury duty next month.
Is there a legit way to get out of this while keeping my dignity intact?
Because I'd rather rather not have my life sucked out by the state.
Fear profits a man nothing.

You can try to disqualify yourself when they interview you for seating, by taking extremist views. Sometimes you can use a job TDY to be excused.

Talk about jury nullification as a constitutional right......in a loud enough voice so everyone can hear you.

Ugh. I've always gotten out of it just by asking. Once, I called and told them the jury date was near my due date, and, as it happened, I actually had our son that day. The other time, I had a vacation planned and I told them and they told me to go and enjoy my vacation. I did.
Truthfully though, I have no desire to sit in judgement of anyone else. I admire those who willingly take part, but it's not something I can do.

Only on big cases do they interview and hire jury selectors, run of the mill jury duty doesnt involve that mostly.
You can claim to be hard of hearing, but they may require a Drs Note of verification.
You can claim financial hardship if you miss work
In many states that have gotten far more strict with jury duty because most everyone wants to get out of it.

I used the one sentence that will get you off the seat. "I don't trust lawyers, any lawyers", then I looked at the judge. I was dismissed.

Tell them that you are an anarchist and don't accept the authority of the court.
I waived my right to be excused from jury duty (lawyer) but they still won't call me. I am moving at the end of the month. Have to see what the new county does for jury duty.
