    So I gave up beer

For the most part, it's pricey out here and the selection sucks.

Started drinking bourbon and I think @Common Sense is a bourbon guy but I don't see him here much lately.

Shasta makes a diet grapefruit soda and I started making bourbon sours - highballs like my parents used to call them.

And I'm experimenting. Evan Williams seems to be my favorite. I'm not going to drop a lot of coin on any of it so the really "high end" stuff is off my list. Evan Williams is good IMO and it's not that expensive, and is the only one in a glass bottle that I've tried so far.

Picked up a fifth of Old Crow recently. Had it decades ago and didn't remember if it was any good or not. Old Sock, it's musty, not as bourbon flavorful as others. It's ok, wouldn't buy it again unless it was really on sale cheap.

Early Times is a bourbon the old Serbs out here like to drink. It's ok too I guess, cheap.

Jack Daniels is good, a bit harsh of a flavor but pricey. It's hard to pay that premium for a label but it's ok.

Makers Mark is one I remember being good but haven't re-sampled it.

Well, give the Canadians their due..... Crown Royal is a fine product!

Hope you hear that Common Sense!

As for me! Natural Ice @ 3.75 a 4 pack- tis a fine product.

    Not big on liquor, though.

    To each his own!

Crown is a blend I think, I've been avoiding that.

I want something with a bite.

For the price Jim Beam is a good go-to. They make Makers Mark as well. I still think they put a Maker Mark label and the fancy wax dip in the cork on their bottles filled with Jim Beam though. Conspiracy forum fodder.

A doctor once told me to drink clear spirits as the tannin released into brown spirits is highly cancerous. Check into Vodka. It mixes well with almost anything. Please stay away from diet soda grapefruit mixers. Try San Peligrino sodas. Blood Orange, Orange and the like. Real sugar and made by Guidos in Italy. Real tonic water is a cheap substitute and will protect you from malaria.

Liquor is harder on your liver. I like wine, but I also like liquor. I've never been a beer drinker. Too many trips to the toilet and I don't really like the taste of beer. I drink liquor rarely. I had an uncle that died from liquor consumption.
