True, plus a quick execution becomes a real deterrent. With DNA and other forensic safeguards, there is no excuse for a convicted killer living over three years at the most. The bleeding heart fear of executing innocents today is silly.

I don't think putting someone to sleep is much of a deterrent.

The news media frequently claims someone was innocent when the fact was that DNA testing raised issues that merited a new trial. There is no way, logically, DNA testing proves innocence.

I doubt a woman raped ever forgets. The system doesn't forget, either, because the conviction is on record as it should be. People don't get to start over with a clean slate and they shouldn't. But, I've known convicted felons who did go on and lead normal, successful lives. Non-violent felons don't have much trouble at all but violent offenders do and they're the ones who rarely go on the lead a normal, successful life. A few do, though.

Wonderful. Do you oppose rapists going to prison for the same reason? And, poor murderers get off, too, and go on to kill again.

Junkies overdose by accident and the government seems to have trouble doing in on purpose. There's a lesson there.

Just stick a cyanide capsule between their teeth and bang them on the jaw. Quick and effective.
