My comment was directed to Crepitus in commiseration regarding your inability to comprehend. In other words, it was directed at you, sir. I apologize for any ambiguity.

Though I note that Crepitus seems to have understood just fine.

Anybody else remember the Two Minute Hate scene in 1984? Where they cheer the newsreel that shows the machine-gunning of the refugee boats? Not that refugees are the equivalent of the Taliban in any manner shape or form. But the visceral emotions displayed by the watchers of the YouTube video (if Starman is a good example, and to be believed) seem to me quite similar to those showcased in that scene.

    Interesting.

Now your doing that mind reading thing you so often harp on about.

Hard to know what you are talking about, since you failed to quote any text of mine to support your accusation[1]. But if you are referencing the immediate previous post...

    Interesting.
...then no, I am not mind reading Starman's mind. The comparison of the emotions displayed in his posts (yay blood!) are reminiscent of those in the book (and also the movie).

This is, of course, assuming there is a mind buried somewhere deep inside that mass of self-evident rage and angst that can be read (as opposed to merely a tape or program loop, which someone else occasionally changes).

The contents of Starman's posts are fairly self-evident in their generalized terror of The Other.

Your profoundly excessive arrogance, and condescension, and pretension of *intellectualism* as practiced by so many of you "libruls" is offensive and terribly misplaced. I can stomach no more of it or you. You don't add information or thought. You just trot out "librul" Talking Points, as trained by your handlers.

Next time you're in Vegas eat at Delmonico's .. Emeril's Lagassi's steak house at The Venetian.

Boss told me to make a dinner reservation and so i made it there and hit him up for the steak and lobster at around a hundred bucks.

SO much this. Yes, that is my experience, too. And I've seen it from both sides here, as a fiscal conservative, and as a recovered-conservative semi-progressive. (I still tend to call out libtard PC bullchit when I see it, though.)

Extended unemployment, devastating disease, temporary homelessness, and seeing Life from the other side of the funhouse mirror for a while are wonderful ways of bootstrapping your perceptions around your life-evolved filters and gaining a bit of empathy. (For example: those uniformly scary and uncomfortable homeless bums? When you sit down at a bench table at a church and eat spaghetti dinners with them, you find out that they are just like everybody else: good, bad, and ugly.)

If the Republican majority does not get their chit together, and fast, they are going to end up creating those conditions for quite a few of the people who voted for them. It will not be pleasant.
