    Go ahead and show me evidence that your position is valid. I'll listen, but otherwise, to be honest, you are guilty of what you project.

    Show me evidence that the motivation of industry is to kill people.

    No, that's your projection, you show me evidence that the suggestion is that industry's objective is to kill people. I don't believe that, I suggested as much earlier but you weren't sharp enough to recognize that.

    Your point, your burden of proof.

    My point as was @del 's is that the objective of industry is to maximize shareholder profits, and if the cost of that profit maximization is at the expense of polluting and killing commoners, so be it.

    Now, again - you tell me why my observation is inaccurate.

    Really? I would assume liberals would suppor this. They enjoyed banning DDT and killing millions.

    Now for my big question. Are the air quality standards promoted by the leftists related to health or to destroying industry?

    Give them time , currently Monsanto is patenting the food you eat and Hershey is buying up water rights. It'll be a while before they get around to piped in clean air, but it will happen.

    You are correct, Germany has made great strides but they still get around 40% of their power from coal, and another chunk from Nuclear. The article you quote shows that at one point on one specific day, they produced enough power. But it is not sustainable at this point still. What they did is great, I am not taking anything away from it, heck they even export electricity because of it. We can do more but with every country you have different issues and different solutions. The German model will not work here as well, the vast area difference alone is a great challenge.

These numbers are for electricity generation alone,
    Coal = 33% Natural gas = 33%
    Nuclear = 20%
    Hydropower = 6%
    Other renewables = 7%
    • Biomass = 1.6%
    • Geothermal = 0.4%
    • Solar = 0.6%
    • Wind = 4.7%
    Petroleum = 1%
    So 67% of our electricity comes from Fossil Fuels, what is your replacement?

    From 1973 to 2012, the DOE and its predecessors spent $154.7 Billion (2012$) of our tax dollars on “Energy R&D”* and has yet to produce a significant energy technology that is commercially viable (i.e., without tax breaks and/or subsidies).
    So we shut down our fossil fuel power plants and replace them with what?????
