I'm not so sure it can, either, but I'm hopeful.
Somehow, the world got turned upside-down in the last few decades and what we once valued -- initiative, success, hard work, accomplishment, innovation and strong leadership, became dirty words.
Every societal unit -- from the dawn of time -- placed value on that which kept it safe, kept it fed, and kept it sheltered. There was a good reason why warriors, whether they were Native American, Viking or Norse, were held in the highest esteem by their citizens.
Now, our heroes are trampled and the weakest members of society are placed on pedestals that can't bear their weight. Society can't function that way.
The inmates are very close to running the prison. This does not bode well but I hope, in Europe's case, it can be reversed. And, I hope we can shut it down in the US as well.
