Mine is not to be his intellectual equal but rather enjoy this life one day at a time and let the mystery unfold as life does the same.

Storming the gates of Heaven is not a good idea, I did that once and what I demanded he show me was above my pay grade, he showed me in love, but I paid the price in so many ways.

Remember, just because you want to know, does not mean that knowing, will benefit you.

He told me patience is the key to most all you could ever seek.

Do you mean that literally? An entity talked to you? You heard an entity with your ears? Or inside your head, as if in a memory?

Or do you mean it figuratively, as in, "Oh hell, I don't understand it, but I feel that it is truth, so that feeling must be God telling me."

I mean exactly what I said, if there is one Creator of all being thru which we all live within and have our being, could not the one mind speak to a fraction of itself?

Think of an infinite line of peaks and valleys all lined up beneath those lines is the bedrock (the one) Now imagine a line slightly above each valley ( the human conscious) beneath that line is bedrock and the subconscious. The peaks above the valley line represent the individual entity known as people. We imagine we have an independent, isolated mind (this is the "veil")

All being lives and moves within the one, here is where I said storming the gates of heaven is risky, I demanded to see beyond the veil, or I was checking out. I gave the Creator an ultimatum(fool).

I got what I asked for, but it was a double edged sword and a one way street, I was warned first, but kept on, headstrong.

This put me in mind of a news story that I heard some years ago - about a woman who kicked her little girl down a flight of stairs to her death because the child refused to sing along to a hymn on the radio. As I recall, the child was only six or so.

So you heard an actual voice, from outside your body? Or from inside your head?

From within, before you scoff, when people speak to you in dreams, is it your voice? Furthermore, where does your inner voice come from?

The outside is a projection sponsored from the inner. The outside world is a passing temporal dream, where the only constant is change.

The inner world is the root from which we go thru this life and where we return.

This simple logic is why you will never find the answers in this world. You will seek in vain until you look inside.

An open mind opens that door. A belief in the impossible is a gaurentee that the door never opens.

An author with whom I was speaking last night happened to mention a quote from Charlotte Bronte:

"Conventionality is not morality. Self-righteousness is not religion."

I can't imagine under what circumstances I would ever own a church, but if I did, those words would be prominently displayed as one entered the building.
