Technically Bush's and Obama's failures were nearly identical because despite the different rhetoric they both did the same stuff. Made war, delivered corporate welfare, eroded state's rights and individual freedoms and spent and borrowed like a drunken sailor on shore leave . Therefore there was no need for blaming, but that didn't stop it from happening

They both did much social welfare as well, in fact, that dominated the spend and borrow drunken sailor spending. Just clearing this up as some believe money spent on our military and defense is what is producing our huge debts and deficits and it's just because they don't know what they're spouting off about. I like to keep the facts straight. Sorry......carry on.

You are correct about spending unessarily or at least ineffectively on social programs. That's part of what I meant about "eroding state's rights" as such programs should exist , but only as state run institutions.
However, when you are drowning in debt ALL UNECESSARY spending is responsible from A-Z and certainly including social programs the feds have no right to run AND wars they have no direct need to fight at this time.
I seriously doubt that much over 1/3 of what the feds spend is truely necessary. Therefore a ten percent across the board cut should be enacted until the budget is balanced. You and I both know that their is not a single federal agency without enough fat to survive such cuts for 3, 4 maybe 5 years. They failed with the scalpel, it's time for the cleaver.

Addendum: SS and Medicare would be exempt because they are earmarked programs with money taking from the working ( up to a certain point of richness) at knife point and promised for our retirement. They are neither tax payer general funds nor entiitlements. They consist of our money, earmaked for us and we want it back and we vote!
