I never turned the heat on in fla. I kept the AC on 71. Now the heat is on 74 in the winter and the ac is on 75 and I have to actually exert myself to sweat.

I grew up in the 1940s, BAC, before air conditioning. I like talking about weather with cowboys, ranchers, construction workers, farmers. I was visiting with a Yankee who moved to Miami and said he moved for the weather. I laughed and said, "The weather sucks unless you're going from your air conditioned condo to your air conditioned car to the air conditioned mall and back again." He sat a minute and said, "That's about it." Most of the environmentalist I meet don't have a clue.

Most people I ask why they retired to fla, say to get away from ice and snow and high taxs and cost of living.

I was born and raised in Fl, I hate cold weather and love to sweat. Only when it gets above 90 with high humidity and no wind, do I get uncomfortable. Cold is painfull. Kin folk said "jed move away from there!"

Northern Wisconsin here where it gets cold and snowy. We know how to tough such things out. Wimps need not come here.
