For the time being, I prefer to believe our government and our allies.
The Israeli government has been pushing for regime change in Syria since before the Syrian Civil War. The Turkish government supports ISIL, which opposes Assad. The UK's conclusion doesn't negatively impact my conclusion. The Trump admin changes its position every five minutes.

Why do you take any of their words for it without any critical thinking?

I guess cos it suits the idea that President Trump was right, and this is how he will 'make America great again'.

But the UN found that the previous chemical attacks in 2013 were down to the US-backed Syrian rebels, and there is the opinion that the chemical release was cos a rebel cache of Sarin and other weapons was bombed by Assad's forces. So in that sense Assad shared responsibility, but not intentionally.

I believe we can't possibly think it through completely because we don't have access to classified government information. Any one of the above governments could have a mole, or undercover agent, in Syria. And they're not going to tell us if they do. Bombing another country is a very serious matter and I believe it wouldn't have been done on a hunch. (Hunch: A feeling or guess based on intuition rather than known facts.) Many countries around the world supported the bombing of Syria, including 5 Arab nations.

A Rasmussen survey found that a majority of likely U.S. voters are behind President Trump's action in Syria.
"57% favor the major airstrike against the airfield responsible for a chemical weapons attack on civilians."
    32% were opposed
    11% were undecided

It seems that Assad doesn't have a very good reputation, being backed mainly by characters such as Putin and Iranian leaders.
