Yes, even Hitler had some good side. It does not remove the fact that he was a cancer.

I didn't any anything about Christianity being great. I said it is the bedrock of your worldview. And, no, many "previous civilizations" did nothing of the kind. There is a reason Christianity has been referred to as the "Bolshevism of Antiquity".

Hitler? Really? I think that tells us all we need to know about your capacity for rational discussion in this case. Good day, sir.

Since democracy has come up I will make the following observation: moderns project their values on the past and call the democracies of the ancient and Medieval worlds imperfect. They were steps in the right direction but they didn't go far enough and had too many flaws. On the contrary, maybe the people who coined the term had a better idea of what democracy is than we do. Maybe we're just practicing something else.

The idea that not everyone is a good candidate for the vote does have appeal.

Agreed. Moreover, the term demos has ethnic and cultural dimensions missing from modern usage. One was born a citizen.

    2. 17th and 18th Century Europeans had one, largely Christian, well to drink from. They drank deeply from it. Had they not your own worldview would not exist.

It continues to amaze me how secularists try to relegate 1800 years of Christianity to an intellectual, philosophical and cultural footnote.
And how fanatics of Christianity try to give to it more importance than it really has.

I don't take anything for granted by the way.

That something has some good point it does not make that all of it is valid. It has good things, I won't deny that. But your intention to give much more credit to Christianity than it deserves it is what makes me to adopt the hardest position.

In this forum due to the extremist opinions of the people I have never been able to take my most conciliatory position and to take to closer opinions.

And please, no comments that Hitler was a Christian, or atheism had "nothing to do with all the murders."

Bread eaters have murdered even more.

And I can guarantee that every murder, mass or otherwise, ever committed was by a water drinker.

    Your point?

You are a fanatic of self-agrandizement. You think yourself the most brilliant being in the universe, and deeply resent God telling YOU what to do. Of course YOU could have created a much better universe, and human body, than God did.

    I love you 😃

I don't think of myself being the most brilliant. And I don't resent God because I don't believe it is not anything else than a human creation. God is a fiction like Zeus, Thor or Harry Potter 😃

I cannot have any resentment for a fantasy.
