Times/Bay News 9/Herald Florida Poll: Mitt Romney 51, Barack Obama 45

Florida continues to look good for Mitt Romney. The Republican holds a 6-point lead in the state essential to his hopes of defeating President Barack Obama, according to a new Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9/Miami Herald poll.

The poll shows slight tightening, with Romney's 51-45 lead down 1 percentage point from the Times' statewide poll a month ago. Other Florida surveys show a tighter contest and both campaigns are blanketing the state with appearances geared toward scraping together every last vote.

Still, nearly every key indicator in the Times' pre-Election Day poll reveals Romney's advantage in a state Obama won four years ago.

Same here I thought he only had a few point lead - tops! Florida is a very important state to win with 29 electoral votes or so.

I volunteered yesterday and made some phone calls -- you wouldn't believe how psyched and excited about voting every person I talked to was.

People are ready to get him OUT. Tues will dwarf Chick Fil A Day by miles.

I jazzed. I only hope it won't be close. Then the army of lawyers....waiting til the 17th to get all the provisional votes counted. Votes "found" in the trunks of cars will have to be counted too. The military vote will be suppressed as much as possible, of course. Romney needs to win big.

How soon my friends forget...I have said from day one that the polls were skewed and if ya'll remember, old mustache guy (Axelrod) threatened Gallop a while back that if they didn't push for Obama, well, their days were numbered. However, election day is here and the polls don't mean shit. it's the people voting. All we have to worry about is tom-foolery from the Left.
