I pay $3500 a year in property tax. This is like $25 a month.

Lots of plumbing stories for me sadly.

My Dad was a general contractor and also had a few rental houses so as soon as I was old enough to throw a hammer I had to work for him on my weekends and school vacations.

One of my fondest memories was just sitting down to Thanksgiving Dinner and the phone rang. Rental people had friends over for their dinner and $#@! was coming up into the bathtub. FML

Without taking a bite of turkey we headed out into the dark rainy night.

Ended up being the D-box was crushed in so we had to shovel out all the crap and put together a make shift box and reconnect the drain field pipes.

5 hours later (1hr in the shower) we got to sit down to eat at around 11pm or so.

Then theirs my old house with a hard tight turned main sink drain that my wife couldn't seem to stop pouring starchy food products into. I ended up installing a coupler with a screw out cap so I could blast it out with a pressure washer every couple months. Tiny crawlspace, what a pain in the ass.

Most problems seem to be caused by people that think that you can put anything down the drain.

So I picked up this acid, can't remember the kind but it had North Korean glyphs all over it. Dumped like a gallon in the main drain and waited, nothing. So I decided to, in my... ahem, wisdom dump a bucket of hot water in there. It exploded, acid everywhere, put holes in my jeans and rust spots in the washer and dryer.

    Cleared the drain though.

Next up - the time I dug up my mother-in-law's backyard to get a sewer line cleared.

When one is a single mother, especially living out in the sticks, you learn to do many different things, in order to survive. I learned how to fix minor problems associated with plumbing. (ex: replacing a faucet or lefty loosey, righty tighty). As for my septic system, I always call; Bob's Superior Septic Sanitation and Computers.
