I'll have to remember to call you if I ever am about to get hit by a hurricane so you can make sure I haven't missed out on any preparations that are so obvious it's astounding you would even post about it.

OH but that's right ignore all of that, it points to the colossal waste of taxpayer money this President and such unconstitutional entity's as FEMA really are.
Well it's like this. The people at FEMA don't understand anything that doesn't come in a package. So they only think in terms of bottled water.

    Forgive them, they're just stupid.

I love that part of the country.. long springs and lots of flowers. I was assigned to work there for three years, but when my job was finished, I couldn't earn a living and had to move on.

Nice people.. Glad to meet you.

I think.. hope I have endured my last hurricane.. I was working in Ft Lauderdale when Katrina came thru on its way to NOLA..

First time I have ever been scared.. Those heavy terra cotta roof tiles were flying thru the air like playing cards smashing windows.

We handled our little catastrophes well enough, sometimes in the winter, sometimes in the summer. Best thing to do is to not expect anyone in a position of authority to help you. You are on your own. Have some kind of plan. There has to be some kind of even meager preparation. I'm still just stunned that it doesn't seem to be the case with these victims of Sandy. Did they think it was a joke? Some of them told of 11 foot waves hitting the houses. Astounding. In those cases you have more problems than survival after the fact. They've got some real potential bacteria problems, mold, undiscovered dead, everything soaked. They can't get warm. and on top of that they have nothing to tide them over. This has the potential to be really bad. I can't get there but I am sending some supplies to the firehouse in...i've forgotten the address, i have it written down...is it Union Beach? NJ. I have a friend there. She's fine but she says there are some people who are suffering. They need socks, clothing, gloves, paper towels...i'm sure you know the drill.

When I retire I plan on moving back to the small town I was raised in SC. NC gets too many of them.
