And Holy Mother of God!!! That calico was po'd!!! We have to bathe her twice week with medicated shampoo until whenever. If I suddenly disappear from the board, you all know what happened
Get a welding outfit, Long Leather Gloves (they will dry) and a face mask to save the eyes, sorta, if you can fashion some leather shoulder pads that might help, maybe. Really they get used to it, or you will learn to enjoy the pain, one or the other, you pick. Cats are fun, ever driven in a car with them Not in a carrier, I had never experienced having a cat crawl up my neck and attempt to sit on my head while traveling 70mph before, now that is real fun.
    Good Luck,

Antiseptic lotion is a Must (not for the cat).

I bathed mine as kittens so they don't fight it as much and I have never been scratched. Since they're both white (one is cream/orange-ish) they occasionally get something on them that requires a bath. Has been a while, though. They're pretty good at taking care of their own hygiene. The blow dryer does scare them a bit but once you corner them with it and they feel the hot air they don't mind as much - it's the noise that makes them anxious.

I have a Calico Torti and Siamese mix.....they both don't mind the water. I have bathed them from when they were kittens. They even play with the water when running from faucets. Doing the dishes is a pain in the ass when they are around. Jumped in the tub even when I have taken a shower. The Calico Torti is like a Jaguar and likes to hover over the water.

Also, a Black Bombay and she hates the water with a passion. I usually get her bathed at the Vet when I take her in for her check ups.

When the dog brought in fleas.....we ended up having to bath them. Then got that Revolution from the Vet. That stuff is great. Kills fleas and mites. Dog didn't have a problem for the rest of the year.

I only bathed a cat once. Moufflou, and I was probably 11 or 12. He got sprayed by a skunk and my mother told me to bathe him in the wheelbarrow. He emitted this low growl the whole time. I remember turning to pick up something and he jumped on my back -- digging his claws in. Then he darted away. That was the end of that bath.
