Sure, the way Milo Yiannopoulos did.

Ann Coulter's Hate Speech not protected....

I am not going to go back and read all 11 pages or whatever it is of this thread. I suspect the subject has been pretty well hashed out by now. The one thing I would comment on is something Chris said... he mentioned it was perplexing that UC would choose to silence the speaker instead of addressing the threat to the speaker. This is something I have commented on privately many times.

When some person or group threatens a speaker for espousing views with which he disagrees, public institutions should never take the easy path and just cancel the address. Instead, they should encourage the speaker to go forth and make it clear that threats of violence will not kill free speech in this country.

I watched a video clip yesterday of some thug from AntiFa hitting a Trump supporter with a sock that had a padlock in it. It opened up the guy's scalp like a razor. That guy should be hunted down and beat to a bloody pulp and put on public display as an example of what will happen if you try to use violence to block political speech. If you want to protest or speak out against a position, do so. That is your right and in some cases, your duty, but cross the line into violence and you have no place in our society.
Subject to, but still not a government entity, and even still, there are some things the first amendment doesn't protect at state run universities
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

I do not propose emulation. If the Left metes out violence we know how to do violence far better. Many of us are prior military. Many of us have endured pain. We should not shrink back where the law has failed.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.

That's cute but Gov. Dean specifically said Ann Coulter's "hate speech" isn't protected by the Constitution. He's obviously referring to the drive on by the leftists to make speech they don't want to hear illegal in spite of the First Amendment.

I'm only 76 and I don't remembering them "championing" free speech but when I went to college they did encourage the expression of conflicting views. The professors back in those dark ages weren't proselytizing but were simply referees at the classroom debates correcting logical errors and teaching people to stick to the point. But, "championing" free speech? Nah!

That would be like having an election where you had to pick between Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. You are the tactics you use and if the right resorts to outrageous lies, violence, vandalism. rioting and looting, and murder like the left, where are we?
