I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of those federal funds go to individuals not even connected with the protests. Research grants (including lots of DARPA work), Pell grants, etc.

And that's where the hard right went astray in the thread. In their zeal to scream bloody murder about Coulter not being allowed to speak, they misapplied the first amendment's intent. Whether or not it was intentional, is up for debate.

Ann Coulter, a conservative, wants to go to a liberal university to agitate. Some students want to protest her. Some alt-righters want to protest the protesters. It's not a matter of free speech as much as security.

Someone should agitate to book Maxine Waters as a conservative school. Or some ranting atheist at a fundy evangelical college.

Have always enjoyed listening to Ann Coulter. She is provocative and knows how to push buttons. Certainly is not immune to inserting an amount of hyperbole in her writings and occasionally goes over the top. Just her style.

If protestors want to protest let them do it peacefully. If those protestors resort to violence or try to shut down the venue, i really hope some heads get cracked. But that's just me...

If I had to make a choice, I would certainly prefer to protect the Pledge of Allegiance over some of the nasty, in-your-face, childish, vulgar, racist, clueless, irrational, ignorant, know-nothing, and totalitarian con(artist)servative drivel on this forum.
