As a fiscal conservative, I support the First Amendment protections of free speech for both Gov. Howard Dean and Ann Coulter.

He would be correct. Coulter's freedom of speech is not being squashed by the government, therefore, there is no violation. There is no expectation of freedom of speech outside the government's limitation.

I would have thought constitutionalists and those who claim to hold the constitution close to their heart would know this already.

The state has the obligation to provide safe crowd control. They have to strike a balance between that and free speech. This is exactly, not kinda, like the yelling fire falsely in a crowded theatre standard in the supreme court free speech rulings is all about.

What school is preventing her from appearing and speaking? Send no further federal money to that school. If it is a private school you have a point.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Free market at work, go to a school that conforms better to your beliefs. I mean, if you want to be consistent and all.

For me, if they have a public speaker before that was allowed to speak, then all should be allowed to speak.

I did go to a better school.

Your comment is not relevant. Speakers are invited to speak. Conservative speakers are harassed. Coulter will speak.
