It's true. If a mom with 3 kids gets a job then they will cut her benefits, take away most of her amount in food stamps and she ends up more poor. Why cut her benefits right away? Why not let her keep receiving them until she can get on her feet and save? That way she can get more experience and find a better paying job. No, they make it where she doesn't want to try. She won't be able to go back to school and it's a no win situation.

I would like to see fraud cut even if it cost the Democrats votes and luxurious pensions and benefits to politicians should be cut. Not eliminated but I'm sure they'd get along fine on SS and a modest pension. Medicare could cover all their medical needs, wouldn't it?

Some years ago a young woman, 22-years, was strung out on drugs and facing losing her infant daughter. I'd known her since she was 12 and convinced her to take a job in a restaurant. She called me a week later and said she'd quit because her caseworker from welfare had pointed out that she didn't just lose the ADC check. She'd be facing rapid eviction from the trailer she lived in that belonged to welfare, her Medicaid card would be invalid immediately, and the dental work she'd been needing wouldn't be paid for. The government will do whatever they can to keep people on welfare on welfare.

Yes, this is what happens. Instead of helping them get ahead they keep them down.

We all know that extreme position . Anybody can write about such positions to frighten people that they are inevitable . i wonder how benefits used in this way total when expressed as a percentage of your full offence and defence budget ? Somewhere around 0.01% perhaps ?

I can write about it because I see it on a daily basis. Frighten people? They live it.
