I think that most of us would agree that yelling "fire" in a crowded place shouldn't be permitted, even under the provisions of free speech. On the other hand, the fact that we've deemed it illegal, the issue automatically goes from black & white, to grey. Yelling "fire" could easily result in injury or death. One could argue, that a "hate" rally of any sort, could easily (and has), result in the same consequences.

Someone wiser than myself would need to make the determination as to "the line in the sand".

There is no law to prevent one from yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. If the report is accurate it is appropriate. Not yelling "fire" when there is one could lead to far more deaths.

(If I want to copy your book or record your song and put my own name on it, isn't that "free speech", too?) No laws regarding the confidentiality of personal information? No laws against publishing or selling classified national security information? Do any of those strike you as being reasonable exceptions to the absolutist view you appear to be expressing?
