Post San Francisco weighs ban on employee cafeterias

San Francisco weighs ban on employee cafeterias — A proposal introduced Tuesday to ban employee cafeterias in future San Francisco office buildings represents more than an effort to boost the city’s restaurant scene, backers say.

“People will have to go out and (eat) lunch with the rest of us,” Aaron Peskin, a San Francisco supervisor who co-sponsored the proposal, told The San Francisco Examiner.

This is such a $#@!ty thing to do, literally. Give up free lunch, a perk, so the empty restaurants can be busy? Spend money you don't have to because there are NO TOURISTS to fill those seats? No tourists because who in their right mind would go to SF now??

Employee cafeterias around here are not free, but cheaper than eating out. I just bring my own food to work. I think the proposal is heavy handed.

Bringing your own lunch will be considered "brown bagging" and as you know brown bagging is racist. So that will be outlawed as well.

I love the smell of San Francisco's fascism.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

California, in the tradition, telling its residents and taxpayers what they can and cannot do. I thought Stallin and Hitler was deceased.

Oh, wait. I guess Bernie Sanders socialism craze caught on in at least one state.

There’s got to be someone out there who supports this?

That is appalling. However, given that it's not retroactive all they have succeeded in doing is to chase away any future tech or other businesses whose business model includes a subsidized or free cafeteria.
