There are far more than you realize, most troops do not give a darn about politics, they are mostly young and interested in life and how to enjoy it. But I will give you the point that yes the military does tend to be more conservative by nature, even the liberals in it tend to be more centered and lean more conservative than say some college student at Berkley.
