There are lots of sources for this. I have read lots of things along these lines. The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail covers many of these sources. Although it has been a long time since I have read it, I don't believe that the authors discounted Jesus' divinity. They did offer many alternatives to the official story.

It has hundreds of citations of Jesus splitting "from the Eastern early Christians on fundamental grounds and was prepared later to work with the Zealots to rule on a consensus basis"? Jesus split from his disciples? What does that even mean? Who are " Eastern early Christians"?
In any case, these sources are just as subject to redaction as the earlier sources.
