I can agree with you in the theoretical sense. But in this particular context, it's about a male displaying his genitalia to teenage females. Most ladies locker areas do have private areas for dressing, or at least enclosed stalls for bathroom functions. This person could have chosen to keep his male genitalia out of public view, and chose not to. That's the real issue here.
I agree - she should have considered that it was a special circumstance and taken action/behaved in a way that was considerate to the people around her, and the situation. Even if the college can't stop her from using the female locker room, you'd think that any considerate person would realise that they should behave in a way that isn't damaging or threatening to others, (children).
"A college cannot discriminate on the basis of gender identity" is what the school spokesperson said. What a crock. If you have male genitalia, then you are still physically a male, no matter HOW you "identify" yourself. I can "identify" as a rich young sexy blonde....but all the self-identification in the world won't make it so. Unless and until this man completes the surgical process and actually lives his life as complete female, he's male, like it or not. The parents are right to raise hell; they should pull their daughters out of the school immediately, then sue the school for aiding and abetting public indecency.
So the only thing stoping a potential predator from having unfettered access to teen girls in a locker-room is a boob-job? Get one on the cheap in Mexico...Or hell, for that matter the probably provide the service for free in the UK....Scary.
A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read.
