I'd move to the southwest. I just might when I retire.

I think people are moving for a variety of reasons. Some economic. People can now work in a variety of fields from home and don't need to be in a major city. Some move for the climate and some are retiring. I think many are moving out of California and New York because of the high cost of living.

Spanish were in Texas about the same time they were in Virginia.

But you can't beat the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Just make sure before you make that leap that you visit in July.

I did a couple of exploratory visits to Houston and Tampa and I did them in July and August, respectively, and I personally, can take the steam, I like it even because I like driving the convertible at night.

Did you take any pictures worth sharing?

No income tax in TN and I deftly avoid TN sales tax by shopping in KY

I'm sure it gets really hot there, but summers here in Toronto can be brutal and humid. I like the dry heat of the southwest.

    Look familiar:

Top picture you had the low ceiling working for you so you got some sky porn. Grand Canyon was an unique place for me to try to take a picture because I know that everybody and their mother takes pictures there so I was depserately trying to take SOMETHING, ANYTHING unique. And for the most part, I really didn't. I was only there for one day on a pre-surgery back, so finding that horse wasn't an option either.

I took nothing but the typical 'nice' vista shot you would expect from an amateur. NOTHING I took stood out.
