After 500 years, Leonardo da Vinci’s music machine is brought to life

After 500 years, Leonardo da Vinci’s music machine is brought to life. Incredible.

Leonardo da Vinci’s contributions to the arts and science were so vast in his time that he is still regarded as one of history’s indisputably greatest minds. The polymath’s interests spanned from engineering to painting, botany to astronomy and all points between. His extensive archive of ideas and schematics has been collected in a 12-volume set known as the
Codex Atlanticus. It was in these pages that Polish instrument maker Sławomir Zubrzycki found a forgotten invention, an instrument played like a harpsichord, but with the sound of a chamber orchestra.

Amazing! Has a great sound, I can imagine it in a Zeppelin or Beatles song.

It's pretty cool. I can hear the cello fairly distinctly at times.

Fantastic. It was the holy grail for stoned musicians with graduate degrees. And it sounds freaking great.

Back in the 70s godley and creme from 10cc created a guitar version and used it on this song:

Sounds good for an instrument conceived 500 years ago. Now lets hook it up to a Marshal amp and speakers and give it a fuzz tone and wah wah peddle and stratocast that thing!

So, cool that a fellow Pollack brought this to life but to be honest it sounded... catty.

I'm guessing that it was too extreme for the time based on musical tastes for the era which is why maybe it was forgotten but isn't that how music innovates?

Step 1: What the $#@! is this $#@!?

    Step 2: Someone notices it

    Step 3: It's suddenly cool

Tempo for stuff like that back then was too... blah. Like funeral procession music. Catholic hymns were a lot like this. "Faith of our fathers, dying in dungeons deep" $#@!. It was the time and age, I get it. Taking something like that and applying it to something interesting now could be a bit of a work but doable.
    my junk is ugly
