If Comey said this about his bosses at DOJ it would also apply to his boss in the White House. The alleged Comey memo leak has no validity.

And Comey ’s response: “In theory, yes.”

Hirono: “Has it happened?”

Comey : “Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something that — without an appropriate purpose. I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don’t see a case there, and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I’m talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason, that would be a very big deal. It’s not happened in my experience.”

If that turns out to be true -- and -- if that means Trump is guilty of obstruction of justice, why wasn't Obama ever hung out to dry over his refusal to hand over subpoenaed documents in the investigation of the Fast and Furious scheme? Obama just flatly refused to cooperate and the media didn't say a thing. Obama went out on a limb for Holder.

Are we really going to start holding only some presidents accountable, when they all do the same thing?

The Obama administration turned over some documents, but not all which were requested.

"Today, under court order, DOJ turned over some of the subpoenaed documents," Chaffetz,a Utah Republican, said in a statement. "The committee, however, is entitled to the full range of documents for which it brought this lawsuit. Accordingly, we have appealed the District Court's ruling in order to secure those additional documents."
