Second term presidents USUALY lose control, usually both houses, of Congress. Obama. Bush. Clinton. Reagan. Nixon/Ford. It's quite a trend.

Two term presidents seldom elect their preferred replacement. Bush one did. You have to go back to, what, Calvin Coolidge for another example?
