Trump Nominates Actual Fascist David Clarke for Department of Homeland Security

Tell me this guy doesn't sound like one of our posters here at tPF.

Trump is dangerous. He empowers people who are even more fringe and dangerous than he is.

In his book, Clarke proposes that the Department of Homeland Security — the department that he has been nominated to serve — assume police-state powers to round up internal enemies. “I suggest that our commander in chief ought to utilize Article I, Section 9 and take all of these individuals that are suspected, these ones on the internet spewing jihadi rhetoric … to scoop them up, charge them with treason and, under habeas corpus, detain them indefinitely at Gitmo,” he writes. Clarke estimates that the number of people to be rounded up in such fashion runs into “hundreds of thousands,” or “maybe a million.” Clarke is clear in his belief that the legal principles that have served as a bedrock against state abuse for centuries should be discarded. He would “hold them indefinitely under a suspension of habeas corpus” because “[b]old and aggressive action is needed.”

If trump shot your best friend dead you'd forgive him before the body hit the ground and be making excuses for him before the funeral.

Sheriff Clarke was the perfect choice, with a background and long experience in law enforcement which Homeland security is all about. Of course liberals would like a non gendered milk shake maker for homeland security that made anti trump rants. Well fortunately for the United States you cant.

Calling him a fascist is a misuse of an actual English word.

    Par for the course.

    1. I didn't write the headline. I did offer a link.
    2. The author's use of the term is more accurate than your laughable "communism = fascism."

This is so funny. It's like Democrats have been wearing blinders until Trump was elected.

    They don't have a clue...

Where was all the outrage when Obama signed the NDAA law into effect? The ACLU was paying attention, but Obama's minions weren't.

If, by the OP author's definition, Clarke is a fascist -- he's only following on the heels of Obama's fascism.

If that quote is real this is a dangerous guy. But only the Constitution busting laws we have allowed to be passed since 9/11 give him teeth. It's almost like the people are supposed to be paying attention or something?
